4 MYTHS REALTORS ARE TOLD TO FIND MORE BUSINESS AND HOW TO ACTUALLY FIND IT!

Real estate is a crowded market, with approximately 2 million active real estate licensees in the United States. This can make it feel impossible to grow your business. The good news is: MORE BUSINESS is within YOUR control. There are a ton of tools out there to help you grow your business (and a lot of them work) but why do so many realtors fail (87% failure rate*)? 


Because they are told that real estate success comes down to these 4 myths and that’s it! 


1 - “You need better time management!” - Distractions are everywhere! You need a system to control your calendar and to do list. Think about it, when realtors get their license, they are not taught on how to run themselves like a business. They are not taught how to set schedules and meetings. So time management is a MUST.


2 - “You need a script” - When you ask for referrals by email or in person, you need to be strategic with the words you are using to close more deals. When speaking to someone for the first time, you want to leave a good impression and having a script is essential. 


3 - “Get an assistant!” - If you want to grow your business, you are going to have to hire help. Your assistant can take care of the little things that hold you back so you can focus on higher level tasks that will help you find more business. So you can see how having an assistant is necessary in taking your business to the next level. 

4 - “Social Media is a MUST” - It is impossible to Ignore. The amount of reach and interaction you can generate on social media is amazing. If you want to grow your business, it’s wise to be active on at least one social network, where you can run ads, share content and drive leads, all while reaching a wide audience of potentially interested buyers or sellers.


This all sounds great right? Easy peasy. 


If it was, then why the heck is there an 87 % fail rate for new realtors*? 

 
The reason is because these 4 tools are just resources and by themselves they don’t make realtors successful.

 
Think about it, if everyone has access to these tools then why aren’t more people killing it in their business? What’s important aren’t the resources themselves but our resourcefulness with the resources. 

 
Now what the hell does that mean? Let me be specific, the decisions we make dictate our outcome no matter what tools we use and what drives our decisions is our mindset. Our mindset determines how confident we are in every situation. 

 
Here are 3 examples: 

 
#1 You may say all the right things (scripts), but if you don’t deliver it confidently and authentically then it will not have the impact you want. Which will then start causing you to doubt yourself. MENTAL LOSS.

#2 You spend hours or hundreds of dollars on social media trying to grow your business but the campaigns are unsuccessful. Overtime it just weighs on you and you end up convincing yourself to just stop. You quit. MENTAL LOSS.

 
#3 You have your calendar and to do list mapped out. Some time passes and you start realizing that you are not completing your priorities at the end of the day. You are busy, but not building your business. The overwhelming and defeated feeling consumes you and you become disconnected. MENTAL LOSS.

 
You can see that if you don’t have the right MINDSET, it doesn’t matter what TOOLS you have, it won’t give you the results you are looking for.
